Carl Dawson

Associate

Carl Dawson focuses primarily on construction and civil litigation, while also advising clients on corporate, real estate, and estate planning matters. He brings a strong analytical mindset and a service-driven approach to all aspects of his legal work.

Joining the firm as an articling student in 2024, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025. Before entering law, Carl spent seven years in Vancouver’s hospitality industry, holding a variety of roles including general manager and kitchen lead. That experience fostered a lasting commitment to service that continues to shape his legal practice, responsive, solutions-oriented, and grounded in real-world understanding.

Carl holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Philosophy from the University of British Columbia. He has contributed to firm publications on construction law topics and, during law school, worked at a well-known Ottawa establishment. He continues to build strong relationships in the local community.

Known for his ability to distill complex issues, assess outcomes, and communicate clearly with clients, Carl approaches his practice with service, candour, and integrity.

Outside of work, Carl enjoys cooking, gardening, and long walk, often with an eye for local plants or food spots. He’s especially interested in native species, food crops, and tropical seedlings, and occasionally unwinds with a strategy game.
