Michael Ruddy

Founder

Michael Ruddy is the founder of the firm and a recognized authority in labour and employment law, with over four decades of experience. He regularly appears before the Ontario Labour Relations Board as counsel for management and serves on arbitration panels in union-related disputes. His practice spans several industries, with a longstanding focus on labour and employment matters in the construction sector.

An experienced negotiator, Michael advises clients on collective agreements and a wide range of union-related labour issues, including but not limited to certification applications, grievance referrals, jurisdictional and sectoral disputes, and unfair labour practice complaints. He represents a wide variety of associations related to the construction industry, including the Ottawa Construction Association and the Electrical Contractors’ Association of Ottawa, among others.

Known for his depth of knowledge, pragmatic approach, and dedication to the construction industry, Michael brings clarity, strategic insight, and a problem-solving mindset to every client matter.
